Harvest Festival10 October 2017 (by Mrs Atkinson (parksidepri)) |
Our school Harvest Festival is on Friday 20th October this year. At this time of year we take time during our RE lessons to learn about how people show they are thankful for the harvest and the food we eat.
The children from years 1 to 6 will be showing each other what they have been learning about and also will take part in an act of charity themselves by collecting food to donate.
We will be giving the food to Trinity Mission in Goole who have a foodbank, food kitchen and support people in Goole by distributing food and other essentials to everyone in urgent need within our community.
They prefer tins and packets as these can be stored and handed out in food parcels. Fresh produce can also be used in the Trinity Mission kitchen on a Friday night. Please check the use by date on donations as they cannot accept food that is out of date. Any donations can be brought into school from Monday 16th October and these will be displayed in the West Wing Hall before being collected at the end of the day on Friday 20th October.
